What does a healthy woman look like?
You won’t find the answer on the pages of Vogue or on “Grey’s Anatomy.” Current notions of beauty have a lot more to do with hours of grooming, photo retouching and breast implants than with good health.
Healthy women, according to the local health-care professionals we interviewed, come in a variety of sizes and shapes. They don’t beat themselves up for not looking like America’s Next Top Model.
But they also stay active, eat moderately and absolutely do not smoke.
